Rep Power: 10 | The 'Save Robert Irvine' Campaign Begins The 'Save Robert Irvine' Campaign Begins
Posted by Raphael, March 11, 2008 at 3:15 PM From a "group of volunteers who are interested in keeping Robert Irvine as host of Dinner: Impossible" comes the " Save Robert Irvine!" campaign. The strategy consists of contacting the Food Network via their online form and the always effective online petition. [via tampabay.com | Know it now | St. Petersburg Times and tbt*] MORE HERE

Rep Power: 10 | I'm sure they will get a huge response. Robert has quite the fan base here.

Rep Power: 10 | Foodie do you mean Robert? Or the person doing the petition? I think we need to be fair to both really, lots of people like Robert, and if they are a fan they are genuine in their efforts I am sure. I believe the person who started the petition they are referring to is a member here, and I want to be considerate of them.

Rep Power: 1 | objecting by calling out names only insults ones own intelligence. Me, myself and I all agree that there is room for Robert, if the whole truth were known. |

Rep Power: 0 | Bring Irvine back Bring Robert Irvine back!!!
Nothing against Mike Symon, but he is sadly mistaken if he thinks he can replace Irvine.
As a line cook myself I have personally replayed things Irvine has overcome in the show. I often find myself thinking of Irvine and becoming motivated to make the "impossible" happen. OH what a sad day it is when the FOOD NETWORK won't make an exception and allow Irvine to comeback. I am not interested in watching Symon on Dinner: Impossible. He is great on Iron Chef but not Dinner: Impossible. FOOD NETWORK better pray that someone like FOX or Gordon Ramsey doesn't get their hands on Robert Irvine. The man is on FIIIYAH! |

Rep Power: 10 | I hope they at least will continue to show his reruns. I wanted to show my Dad the episode they did at US Cellular Field.

Rep Power: 1 | They need to bring Robert back, send Symon to Detroit to take care of his new restaurant and bring John Besh in to ICA. But to little to late

Rep Power: 1 | Guess the petition didn't work since Symon has the job. But then, I don't think it would have helped, for FN already had their mind made up. I'll miss Robert on FN and always watched D:I.
I keep watching for a announcement for the new TV show he talked about on his blog that suppose to be in the works.
His resume isn't what got him is job on D:I. From Robert's blog: Quote: |
Interestingly, my resume is not what got me the job on Dinner: Impossible. The show was created by Brian O'Reilly, a writer and producer who became executive producer of the show, and was based on events from my life and on skills that I had developed over the course of my career that were unique to me: cooking at a high culinary level under pressure, often for large numbers of people, sometimes with limited resources and an ability to improvise with whatever I had on hand to get the job done. We arranged a date to fix a gourmet luncheon for the players and coaches of the NY Rangers and the NY Knicks at their training facility in New York (21 dishes served in a buffet line for 60 people in 3 hours) and from there produced a “sizzle” reel that demonstrated the concept for the show (which was originally called “Fit For A King”). Food Network saw the sizzle reel, loved it, added the element of keeping each “mission” a secret from me until I arrived on the scene, changed the name, bought the show, and the rest is history.
