Michael Symon taking over Food Nework's "Dinner: Impossible''

Michael Symon taking over Food Nework's "Dinner: Impossible''
The Plain Dealer - cleveland.com - Cleveland,OH,USA
As if Michael Symon wasn't busy enough. Cleveland's Mr. Type A of gastronomy is taking on another challenge. He's going to be the host of "Dinner: Impossible," Food Network's third-highest rated show.
This new job is in addition to his other jobs as owner of Cleveland landmark restaurants Lola and Lolita, and one of the Iron Chefs on Food Network's "Iron Chef America." He will continue to do "Iron Chef America," shooting 10 shows for the new season in June. He begins shooting 13 "Dinner: Impossible" show next week, finishing at the end of May. New episodes of both shows will begin airing in November.

Breaking: Iron Chef Michael Symon Replaces Irvine on Dinner: Impossible

Iron Chef Michael Symon is replacing Robert Irvine as host of Food Network's Dinner: Impossible, according to reports.

The winner of last year's Next Iron Chef competition will shoot 13 episodes this month!!! And they're jumbo-sizing them from 30 to 60 minutes. Symon will also continue to shoot Iron Chef America.

"This is my cup of tea," Symon is quoted by Cleveland's Plain Dealer. "Tell me something's impossible, that gets me going to prove you wrong."

********************************

Yay! I'm actually very excited to hear this. Michael really proved himself as a talented chef and TV personality on Next Iron Chef, and I think DI will the perfect place for his talents.

Interesting, but it won't be the same.

It definitely won't be the same. I liked Robert's sense of humor. I will definitely check it out though... I will miss George and George. I liked them.

I really came to like Michael Symon during the Next Iron Chef show, though I wanted John Besh to win.

I'll probably give the new version a try

I used to really like the show and gullible person that I am, I believed most of it was real. A while ago, we read an interview with the mother of some ren-faire guy who had a part in the show. She said how her son was instructed to keep nagging Robert as it was pretty funny stuff. Then just last week, there was a line about a producer giving Robert suggestions into his earbud. I'd also heard from friends who live in Hershey that Robert's dinner for the people working for Hershey Chocolate was far different from what we saw on the show. I never questioned any of that stuff before.

Now though, even without Robert, it's going to be difficult for me to believe much of it is real. But my hope is that Symon will add his own touches. We do know that Symon can cook and he does own two restaurants. I hope he can make the show fun and believable again.

Michael Symon? I don't know. I didn't really care much for him from what I saw on Iron Chef.

I will give him a chance, as long as he don't start that grating laugh, it just for some reason drives me nuts kind of like running your finger nails down a chalk board
