Top Chefs "Masters"
I liked the format of 4 chefs each week with one moving into the championship round. I liked the quick fire, serving desert to girl scouts.
I HATED the elimination challenge. I want to see "master" chefs competing with the best tools, in the best kitchens, with the best ingredients available. I want to be wowed and learn things I don't know.
I DON'T want to see "master" chefs reduced to entertainment fodder cooking in a dorm room with a toaster oven, a microwave, and a hot plate trying to serve something gourmet.
I don't like the judges, and I don't think Bravo is gonna like their ratings if it continues along these lines, which I'm sure it will as it's already in the can, as they say. I know I'll tune out if this continues.
I was hoping to learn from the masters, not reduce them to entertainment fodder.
This was just stupid.

Love was on ICA. He also has a cook ware on HSN, Cast Iron, his trail ride from Dallas to NYC was on the Food Network also, and no, I have not eat at his restaurant even though it is four hours up the road in Dallas.
prepared with passion and served with love !

I wonder what demons kept Rocco Dispirito from being a chef-testant on TCM. It doesn't seem like his schedule is THAT busy?? EGO??? Nahhh. too much speculation.

I can see how guys who have been doing this for YEARS prim and proper might want to do something fun and see what they can make with what they are given. I figure they look at every day as a competition with other restaurants. This is for charity and they playing it up for TV.

I agree, it looked like it could have been fun. But when Bravo has been advertising it, they have not made it out that way, the commercials showed it to be more or less like the Top Chef show, not this off the wall stuff. Will I still watch yes, am I upset, yes I feel Bravo had made a fool of me and insulted my intelligence and the culinary community on the whole. If they had said that the challenges will be off the wall humorous stuff, I still would of watched, just a chance to see the chefs and knowing it is for charity, but for me this was a low blow. I hope the producers come here to read some of this, I have been reading some of the other forums, so far the reports are a lot think it is real funny, a lot are like I am upset because of the way they have done it.
