High Prices to Pull Milk Output Higher

High Prices to Pull Milk Output Higher
Ag Report - Oct 12 8:11 AMWASHINGTON - Oct 12/07 - SNS -- High dairy prices will result in an increase in milk production totals for the United States through the end of 2008, according to the latest supply and demand forecasts from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board.

I paid 5 dollars for a gallon of milk my last visit to the store.

Are you kidding? Wow, I had no idea milk was that expensive. But, wait, I do buy the organic milk in the half gallon. It runs about $3.49 so that comes to almost $7.00 a gallon!

Funny how now gasoline is cheaper than milk by the gallon. Never thought that would happen.

I looked at Sams Club today, theirs was only 3.59 a gallon. I guess I should have waited and got it there. I didn't think Kroger would be THAT much more.

Even Wal-Mart has jacked the prices up.

I've never lived anywhere where milk was cheaper than gas. I guess I'm living in the wrong places.

Wait a moment, if the out-put is higher it should help lower the price?

My brother-in-law milks 30 head, he has an organic farm but sells his milk to a non-organic buyer. He says the price is about the same. Why are you paying more? Just wondering out lound, mind you...

Depends on where you live and access to local farmers. Just like gasoline. We have zero refineries anywhere near here, so our gas is more expensive.

But then, our produce is much less expensive because we have an abundance of local farms that grow produce.
