Yesterday, I got a call from a good friend. She had free tickets to the Food and New Products Show and she invited me and another friend to go. I was knitting at the time, but I thought what the heck!

I'm happy that I did. Not only did I spend some time with two good friends but I got to meet Wally Amos. He used to be known as Famous Amos...famous chocolate chip cookies.

I heard he is quite entertaining. His books were being published by a local publisher out here, Beyond Words. I had gone there a couple of times when I entered a writing contest years ago. Guess I had just missed meeting him as he was there shortly before I arrived. That would have been very interersting. I'll have to check out his new cookies. He writes a column for the monthly Costco magazine.
