What size eggs do you buy?

Do you have a reason for buying a certain size? I buy large eggs for no reason other than my mother has always bought large eggs.

I see certain recipes that call for extra-large eggs and I've always wondered if there is a rhyme or a reason to it or just a personal preference.

I always buy large also. And I alternate between brown and white so I know which ones in the basket are fresher. I bought brown ones this time and I will finish up the white ones first, then when all that's left are a couple of brown I will buy white again.

I know ... I am weird.

I usually pick up jumbo size. Not sure why other than its a dime more for "jumbo".

I have found that large eggs do the trick.

Have eggs gone up in price where you are like they have done here? We are paying $2.59 a dozen and up for basic large eggs!

Trader Joe's always has the best price on eggs, and they have their use-by date stamped on the top of each egg, which is handy if you take them out of the carton!

That's about what I pay. The brown ones are slightly more though, I don't know why.

I buy my eggs directly from a farmer. I almost stopped buying from her because her eggs were having double yolks and I found that confusing. Yes, I'm easily confused.

We use a ton of eggs here and we get them from my brother-in-law. Probably range from med. to large. I been trying to find three or four hens for myself/family.

When I lived in maine, the only time you would see white eggs was around easter so they would look nicer when dyed. The rest of the year brown eggs were the norm.
