Disappointed...went to the farms and no strawberries! They said it is too wet to go out in the fields so I'll have to wait until next week as it is suppose to rain on and off for days.
I did pickup some fresh white corn-on-the-cob and Walla Walla onions. Came home and made a killer corn chowder with bits of pepper bacon! It was SOOOO good I could have eaten it all! Restricted myself to just a mug with more for tomorrow.
BTW, I used Michael's method of taking the corn off the cob. Put a smaller bowl upside down, inside a larger bowl. Place the flat end of the cob on the smaller bowl and just let the corn fall into the larger bowl. This was a great tip! Worked like a charm.
