Ran into a strawberry grower at Trader Joe's last week and he said the crop this year is amazingly sweet! Heading out to the farm tomorrow...yum!!!!

Rep Power: 2 | There isn't much I do not like when it comes to the first of the season for anything, it is a renewance of the taste buds with the freshest of ingredients that awaken the soul, and open the pallet to a nuance of flavors, and excite us once again to the delicious and abundances, till once again we have had our fill, and look for the next new crop.

We've had fresh strawberries for over a month now and it usually continues throughout the summer. They're usually BOGO, too. Sometimes I eat them so often that I can't even look at them by the time summer ends.

Rep Power: 1 | I love it when asparagus comes in season. You can get those really slim stalks that are so good stir-fried with garlic and olive oil.

Rep Power: 10 | Trader Joe's had organic strawberries from California yesterday so I bought a container. Must admit they are really good! Firm, very strawberry tasty, with a hint of sweetness, just enough. Today I'm venturing off to a strawberry farm. Those will be very different. Smaller and very sweet. I love this time of year!
