Potato worms

Any of you ever bought potatoes with worms in them? I looked mine over good when I bought them but I guess they were inside. It's super gross. They ate the entire inside out of one and just left the skin. Then I smelled it and went to investigate.

Not the ones I buy at the potato farm. I do recall as a kid, we'd occasionally have a potato that was eaten from the inside, but haven't seen that in over 40 years. Boy, do I sound old!

Hec I've seen that, and I raise my own potatoes. Bumper crop this year by the way.

this was the worst I have ever seen. It' looked like the skin off of a baked potato someone had eaten all the inside. There were hundreds and they came out of that one and started in on the others. I am glad the bag was plastic, it would have been an even bigger mess in a mesh or paper bag.

I've never seen that, I am so squeamish that I would be off of potatoes for a while.

I thought my daughter would be the same as you but I convinced her I would buy them at Kroger (these were from Sam's Club) and she was okay. At first she told me I could hold off. And I had got them specifically to make her mashed potatoes because it's one of her favorites. She was with me when we shopped and we really checked them out. I told her I have eaten potatoes all my life and never seen anything like this till now so we probably won't see it again for a long time. We had chicken breasts and mashed taters tonight. They were okay, I looked them over good when I cut them.

Did you take the potatoes back to Sam's Club and show them all the worms?

I called and told them about it and they said I could bring them back. I said I didn't want those things in my car and I am certain they don't want them there (they had started to smell) so they told me I could just bring the bag back I put the potatoes out for the garbage and folded the bag up and put it in a zip lock. I still haven't been to Sam's yet to see if they really do give me my money back. I had already thrown away the receipt.

They gave me a gift card to spend in the store when I returned it. Which is fine, I bought more things there today. Then forgot about the card when I paid.

I go pretty often though so I am bound to remember it eventually.
