Chicken Question
I have a chicken question. I watched Chef Anne's show Saturday. She did not wash the chicken and said she did not feel it was necessary.
I am sorry, I would not eat at her house. What else is she not washing.
I think meat should be washed because cooking. You don't know how it was handled before you purchased it. I wash items well before feeding to my family.

The only meat that I DON'T wash is ground meat.
But if I'm grinding it, then I WILL wash it first.

Me too. Ground meat would be hard to wash. I am with you that is the only meat. Everything else gets a good washing.

I just saw Emeril put some chicken thighs in a pot the other day, and you just wouldn't believe the huge amount of fat they had on the other side!!!
I only use the breasts and drumsticks. They have the least amount of fat and it can be removed real easy!

I am sorry. I can only see out my left eye and I mis-read the topic. I thought it said "Chicken Forum". I am sorry!
Charge it to my eyes and not my mind.

I don't know.
Maybe you can fix it and put it in the right category, since it was a food question.
Thanx.

Many, many times I read things incorrectly. You aren't alone on this one...I just go too fast.

It certainly never hurts to wash the meat. The better sanitation techniques you employ, the less like you are to be calling Ralph on the big white phone.
