My outside herbs are almost done for the year. My lemon tree (inside) is doing well and I have about 3 lemons that are almost ready to come off. They are beautiful.

I'd like to start growing some of my herbs, especially the ones I use a lot of. But, I've got too much shade (large live oaks, pines and magnolias) and the deer, so if I do grown them, I'll have to do it in containers on my deck. That way, they'll get sun and the deer can't get to them.

Does anyone know if raccoons will bother herbs? They do get on the deck every night.

Yep, they like to get in the marsh here and eat crabs, raid the oyster beds and go fishing in the shallows. They do like corn and tomatoes tho. But, they probably wouldn't care for the herbs.

They have never eaten mine. They do leave their little, muddy, paw marks on the house right by the water faucet. One day they will figure out how to turn it on.
