Turducken - Out, Quaducant - In
Qua-duc-ant (Quail, Duck, Pheasant)

Turduckens and churkeys were so five minutes ago. A quaducant—following the Russian matryoshka nesting doll model of meat—would be quail's breast meat stuffed in duck's breast meat stuffed in a deboned pheasant. Buy a six-pounder on Cajun Grocer for $59.95. Meat multi-tasking like you've never seen it before.

I want to try the turducken, but I'm going to have to do it making a roll as in the pic above. A whole turkey would be way too much!

I never heard of a churkey.
Those who forget the pasta are condemned to reheat it.

I'll have to pass on the pheasant. Never had it before.

When we were kids one of our neighbors went hunting and gave us a pheasant. I still remember my dad plucking the feathers and I was so sad. I would not eat it after watching that.

Non-Turkey Turkey Day.
Funny, while we are on this subject, I found this one in the Boston Metro today on the way to work. Here's yet another one - a substitute for turkey. Anyone ever heard of it?
It's called Tofurkey, a non-meat vegetarian version of the popular bird. From what it sounds like, though it's chief imgredient is not memntioned, it's pretty much self-explanitory.

It's made using tofu as the "meat" and I think mushrooms for the stuffing and comes with mushroom gravy.
You roast it just like a regular Turkey or turkey roll for 1-1/2 hours (90 minutes), then slice it and pour the mushroom gravy over it.
No, thank you! I don't like tofu. I'd want the real thing!!
