McCormick's forecast offers good food for 2009

From Lipton's California Dip and Campbell's Green Bean Bake to Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats and Borden's Six-Minute Fudge, there's a long and checkered history of food manufacturers creating recipes to promote their products.
Not many of us need another cream-of-mushroom soup concoction for our recipe collection, but when the product is a basic ingredient, the chances of a quality outcome increase. That's the case with several of the recipes accompanying the 2009 McCormick Flavor Forecast.
For a number of years, the Baltimore spice company has convened a panel of chefs and food personalities to predict flavor trends for the year ahead. The Food Network's Cat Cora and Dave Lieberman were among this year's 10.
