Can you make bread puding with rice cakes?

HELLO! COOKS/CHEFS OUT THERE!
I have a friend that is alergic to wheat and the glutten produced. She gets horrible blisters that take forever to disappear. But she loves the bread (budin de pan) pudding that I make. I wish to please her. Could I substitude the bread with supermarket bought rice cakes? The other ingredients are the usual ones: eggs, sugar, milk, butter.
Should I add another egg? Less/more milk? Baking soda/powder. I don't need to add these in my recipe because the bread already has them.
I do not bake bread. The last time I tried, it came out so hard that I almost "killed" my son when I threw it at him (Big LOL!!!). So the recipe for the rice cakes would have different ingredients than any bread??? I use day old sandwich bread.
Any suggestions ? Nothing with wheat or glutten. Thank You.

I would imagine that the rice cakes would dissolve into mush.

Try this link, it includes a breakfast bread recipe and a recipe for using it in bread pudding. You could use the breakfast bread and make your own bread pudding recipe.

You can sometimes find bread made with rice flour, or mixes to bake it at home. Could you just use rice with the same flavorings and make it a rice pudding?

Here's a great snack with rice cakes...

Use the mini, salted cakes
Melt dark chocolate..the 'good for you' chocolate
Dip one side of rice cake in chocolate (like you are dunking a cookie in milk)
Roll in chopped pistachios or nuts of your choosing

DELICIOUS!
