America's Premier Celebrity Cook Teams With America's Premier Retailer For
Line of Dessert Bars And Pies, Just In Time For Labor Day Weekend
THOMASVILLE, Ga., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Paula Deen, America's Premier
Celebrity Cook, today announced the launch of a new, exclusive baked goods
line with Walmart, just in time for Labor Day Weekend. The line, which will
initially serve up a series of pies from Apple Crunch to traditional fudge,
will be available this week at Walmart stores coast to coast. In keeping with
Deen's long-standing tradition of quality and affordability, the pies and
dessert bars, made with nothing but the best ingredients will be sold at
consumer-friendly affordable prices. The line is priced between $3.00 and
$7.50 retail.
"We are proud to partner with one of America's premier retailers in Walmart
for this line," said Deen. "With our busy schedules, dessert is sometimes
left to mass produced items with less than wholesome ingredients, making it
the forgotten part of a good meal. We created a line of products using what
any good cook would use if they had the time...lots of apples, butter, quality
nuts and chocolate...so consumers can have access to baked goods that are both
affordable and tasty when they need a good dessert to bring home to the family
or to that special party or event."
The initial line will offer up three pies...Apple Crunch Top, Dark Rum Pecan,
Old Fashioned Fudge and Gooey Butter Cake dessert bars...all made with the
best ingredients according to the high standards that go along with all Paula
Deen products. The line will be expanded to a wide variety of custom baked
products, all Walmart exclusive, in the coming months.
"Walmart is pleased to offer its customers this exclusive line of Paula Deen
baked goods at prices that enable them to save money and live better," said
Bakery Vice President Scott Neal.

Our closest one is about 1 hour from the house and it's a Super WalMart. We usually stop there on our town trips... there and Costco to stock up on things since we don't have anything on the island except our wee little Pig down at the beach.
Here's a photo I found online of our little Pig (which I like to call the Piglet). Almost the whole building is in the photo and it's wider than it's deeper. Only two checkouts and they use the little shopping carts because the regular-sized ones are too big for the place.

Maybe it is just me but does Paula like places that have conflicts with the employee's ? The boys (mine both worked for Wally World) just got their settlement papers from Walmart where Walmart lost the law suit working all those people off the clock and unpaid overtime. Seems like the meat place, Smithfield's had similar issues. I would think she would try to stay away from that stuff.

I don't know if they are being made and produced by Walmart, they are just being sold there. Could be just like any other brand they sell, but they have exclusive rights to sell it.
