Angry Paula Deen at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans

I went to see Paula Deen at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans on Saturday, March 1. It was titled "Southern Cooking with Paula." Well, for one thing Paula came out and said she was not cooking, if you wanted to see her cook turn on the tv. Then she introduced her husband, her publisher, her jewelry designer, her hairdresser, etc. She also told a few crude jokes. Paula you are not a comedian, people wanted to see you cook or at least talk about it...not your personal life and how you are constipated....I know I was not the only one disappointed. I went to the 2 o clock show and saw 6 other people that went to the 4 o clock show and I asked them about it. They said it was just like the 2 o clock show, BAD.... I could have saved $25 and stayed home and watched Food Network....Shame on you Paula.. I know you are human but you DISAPPOINTED A LOT OF FANS IN NEW ORLEANS. Are you getting too big for your britches?????

She didn't discuss cooking at all? That really is strange. I am sorry you weren't happy with the money you spent. You would think they would tell what the show was about, I am sure most everyone would expect her to be talking about food or cooking.

Angry Forgot to mention

Oh, I forgot to mention that my parents were with me.... Seeing that side of Paula proves that she's no Southern Belle like she claims.

Have you seen Paula's Party? She is rather ... ahem ... shall we say "bold" on that show.

I guess if she is wanting to change her image, she is doing a fine job of it.

That's too bad. I liked the original Paula, not the new and not-improved Paula.

I seen one of the first Paula live shows in Shreveport. I was sadly disappointed but at least she had her sou chef cooking there, well she was telling her life story on stage running around with her shoes off. She had Micheal and Bubba there with her, they talked about Micheal's coffee and Bubba's oyster house. This was just as Paula's Party was starting, and she was saying they were not going to be doing anymore of her at home cooking. I wonder if the network isn't trying to make up for the loss of Emeril live by doing this Paula's party but I think she is on the verge of losing all her respectability. I have noticed lately that her husband and the boys are not on any of her new shows, even Bubba has backed away and it is his restaurant where they do the filming I think. Paula needs to go back to what made her, her kitchen and southern cooking, just way to many shows that could be done yet.

I saw her too!

Oh my gosh..it was terrible! I felt sorry for her Aunt Peggy and Bubba who appeared to be so humiliated! I went to the 2pm show as well and while I was disappointed that she didn't cook, I was blown away by her humor. Each story was more crass than the last and even went on to talk about the first time she met Hank (Michaels brother) and how he wasn't wearing any underwear as she peered from below the flybridge of her boat!! She talked openly about leaving a "pile of poo" in the drive because she couldn't make it to the bathroom and then her neice found it covered in flies. Michael talked about getting a woman to flash him her "boobies" in a bar from which he had crawled home many times. It was just a huge disaster and I was embarrassed to be there. There were no clean stories in between either...no talk of cooking and far far far from a Southern Belle. The warmth of her personality was completely gone and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The bad part is that I have a trip planned to Savannah next week and was looking forward to our annual visit to her restaurant. Now I think we'll do Bubba's and skip Lady and Sons.
