Dr. Mehmet Oz has a message of hope for the middle-aged.

Dr. Mehmet Oz has big shows lined up for February: some of America’s heaviest women on Tuesday, a hypnotist on Wednesday. But during a visit to Orlando today, he talked about an episode with chef Paula Deen that probably will never air.
“I am so proud of that show, I can’t tell you,” Oz said. “She’s such a wonderful, soulful person. It would be so helpful to people to see the show, but it wouldn’t be helpful to her. I don’t think she’s in the right place for it to be seen.”
Oz talked to Deen about her health, and the taping was reportedly bumpy. Oz said he has communicated with Deen since about the episode. “Some of the things she was speaking to were things she wasn’t proud about. I don’t want to cause that pain for her,” Oz said.
Will it ever air? “One day, many years from now, maybe I’ll show it in a home movie,” Oz said. “It was a very soulful, honest, uncomfortable conversation. That’s what transformations are about, sometimes you have to face your biggest demons.”
