Paula to host daytime TV show

Not sure what I think of Paula having a daytime talk show. That'd make two loudmouths from the FN. People will have to learn how to use the volume controls. I guess I'll have to wait and see but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. I do like Paula but don't care for her nightime lech show.

She also appears a lot on QVC hawking her pots and pans as well as Smithfield products.

They just use the same people over and over again. I enjoyed a lot of them in the early day, but now it is just too much. They are really starting to use Bobby more and more and before you know it, we'll be overloaded on him as well.

I think there's a 50-50 chance this could be successful. She has the personality to carry a talk show, but on the other hand, her style might not play well with the core viewers of daytime.

I think they try to inflate her personality for things like this. As successful as she was with the target audience on the Food Network before Paula's party, amping her up not only doesn't seem to have brought her new viewers but has repelled a lot of the old ones. I think that was a big mistake. I like Paula when she's the original home cooking lady I grew to love.

I agree. She is better in her kitchen cooking and talking to the camera. I can't even watch that Paula's Party show....I can only imagine what this show would be like. Annoying and irritating probably. That was mean...but hey.

I'm sure the FN is very aware of what the viewers think of her night-time personality because (unlike myself) there are a good number of viewers who consistently write in to the networks to give their thumbs-up or thumbs-down on particular shows. If they're going ahead with it, they must *cough-cough* think they know what people like to watch. Hey, they gave RR her own talk show and it seems to be a big hit. Who knew??


I love to watch Paula when they run some of her early shows. She's the same, homespun grammie as she is today with the exception that now she's a l'il bit louder and a l'il bit more aggressive. (I'm talking about her PHC show, not the nighttime raunch-fest.) And I'm sure the FN execs have at least a little bit to do with that.

All in all, as they say, I'll bet Paula is laughing all the way to the bank.
