Paula Deen's The Deen Family Cookbook
MEET PAULA DEEN
• When: April 22, 6-8 p.m.
• Where: Sam’s Club, I-45 in Shenandoah
If you watch Paula Deen’s cooking shows on Food Network, you know that her love of family is as big as her laugh and as deep as her attachment to butter. Deen has never been shy about mentioning her family and their recipes (Grandma Paul, Aunt Peggy and brother Bubba get lots of credit), bringing her sons into the picture (Jamie and Bobby, both gung-ho cooks, are her right-hand men) or setting out a stick-to-your-ribs spread for her husband, Michael. Now she’s added another loving acknowledgment: Paula Deen’s The Deen Family Cookbook
. Her first major cookbook since 2006, it’s stuffed with comfort food and Southern charm. Food editor Greg Morago caught up with Deen by phone recently to chat about her cookbook and what family and friends mean to her. MORE HERE
