Someone's in the kitchen with Paula ...

When my editor, Lisa Mauch, asked if I'd "be interested in two tickets to see Paula Deen at Xavier University's Cintas Center," I could hardly believe my luck.

I was already rearranging my schedule in my mind so that I could go. I couldn't pass it up!
My friends at Joseph Beth Booksellers put on the event, and the ticket included her latest book, "The Deen Family Cookbook."

The Deen boys have a new cookbook coming out on Sept. 8th. Sounds like it may be a good one for these times when people are looking for ways to cut meal cost. And, it appears they're going to be quick-fix meals too. I have two of theirs and really like them. Good, and a wee "healthier" than mom's.

Seems there are a lot 'fast-fixing' and 'low-cost' recipes lately. I even saw that Hagen Daz has a new ice cream product called FIVE...and guess why? Hmm, it only has Five Ingredients in it...sound familiar?

Wonder which came first, the ice cream or the new show, Five Ingredients or Less?
