Celebrity cooking host gets advice on starving a cold

This time, the public was giving Rachael Ray the recipes.
The celebrity cooking host and author was at Borders bookstore on Commons Way Saturday to sign copies of her latest work, ""Rachael Ray's Book of Ten'' … a compilation of top ten lists among Ray's various recipe categories. But while Ray exhibited her trademark bubbly personality chatting with customers, she was clearly not cooking along on all four burners.

Speaking in a low voice, and often pausing while sitting behind a 2-by-5-foot table to catch her breath, Ray signed or personalized books for nearly 600 customers, according to store general manager Chris Croson. But along the way, the host of ""Rachel Ray,'' and the Food Network offerings ""30-Minute Meals,'' ""$40 a Day'' and ""Tasty Travels'' received plenty of suggestions for starving her illness, which Borders events manager Karen Landers declined to specify.
