Rachael Ray hardly needs an introduction. The chatty television star who began her career in food service as a manager in the fresh foods department at Macy's in New York bounced onto the Food Network in 2001, and has built a media empire that includes syndicated daytime talk show Rachael Ray, consumer magazine Every Day with Rachael Ray, Food Network shows 30-Minute Meals, $40 A Day and Tasty Travels, over 20 cookbooks, product endorsements and a flourishing product line.
Not only is she a nationwide household name, Forbes estimates that the gourmand made $15 million last year and voted her the No. 2 Most Trusted Celebrity in 2006.
ForbesWoman talked to Ray about how she became a pop culture sensation. And with so many balls in the air, we found out how she juggles it all. (P.S.: The rumours that she cooks dinner every night? Totally true.)
