Yes hate "IS" a very strong word but if you saw the RR sucks forum you would see tons of hate. Their choice though.

I used to like Rachael Ray a lot. I think that she just got a little over exposed by the Food Network. The girl has so many shows I can't even keep track of them all. I do buy her cookbooks. The recipes are pretty fun, easy, and taste pretty good! Although, it takes me closer to an hour to complete them.

30 minutes?

I have to say somthing about Rachael Ray. I've been watching 30 minute meals for the last 2 years in prison and I still haven't been able to finish cooking 1 single meal that she prepares on that show. I'm not happy because when I'm aloud to cook they only give me 30 minits. I got sick one time for eating raw chicken. I must say I like watching the show and am a big fan of RR.

If you notice, Steve, she usually cuts her chicken very thin before cooking it or pounds it thin so it will cook faster. I agree, though, many times her meals take a lot longer to cook if you want the food to be cooked through.

The little chicken tenders cook faster, if all you have available to you is the Chicken breast you could always cut it into strips and flatten them some as well like Berry Baby suggests, just try not to over cook it then, you will probably need to adjust the recipe a bit to make sure everything is cooked evenly.

I'm glad that you are willing to stand up and proudly admit your enthusiasm. To me, that's a mark of being a true fan

While I readily admit to not being a Rachael Ray fan, I understand there are tons of people out there who adore her. One of my best friends is a fan. She buys her magazine and watches her shows and we get along just fine. As others have said, it would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing.

When I first got my DirecTV service and started watching Food Network, I watched 30 Minute Meals. What got me not to like her, and of course this my opinion, was it quiet obvious that I know more about cooking than she did because she did things that were wrong. I didn't know at the time she was not trained in the culinary arts. So for me, I'm looking for people who can teach cooking rather than give me a recipe. But that's just me.

My favorite FN personality is Alton Brown and I know there are people out there who find him annoying. But, I stick to my guns when people say bad/mean things about him. So, keep up your support for Rachael no matter what other people say or tell you because if you like her its no one else's business!

Hey guys, I'm new here just today, as I am a guy who works from home and enjoy the Food Network. I know Rachael is criticized somewhat, so here are my thoughts:

Personally, I was a huge fan at first -- particularly of 40 Dollars a Day. But after a while she kind of wore on me, but I still find her entertaining and am not sure why people would hate her -- and there are a lot of hate sites out there. I could see someone not liking her style, but what's there to hate?

First of all, the gal is very popular so some folks need to get over it. I know my own brother, quite a cook himself, loves her shows and especially her books, and they are useful. The gal would not be the rich woman she is if she wasn't popular. She caters to a large group of people, mostly women but men too.

that said, she is a bit overexposed and that's always a danger in TV as people will grow weary. Seems Food Network never quite understands this balance.

Seems like FN likes to overexpose their people so nobody can stand them anymore. Sadly, I think they have done this was Paula.

I think you are right. I dont think they understand proper scheduling, though it seems to be getting better. I think a concept of decent exposure and then the occasional "marathon" of a particular chef would be good to satisfy the fans.

Does anyone know a way to contact her. I want to see if she would come here and make a meal in 30 minits. It would be good publicity for her, she has many fans here at dorshesterpen. I could reimberce her by drawing a still life portrait of her. that's how I get most of my ingredients for when I cook, I draw fellow cellmates and sometimes even guards. This also gets me time in the kitchen to do what i really love most, cooking. I donate some of my artwork to local gallaries and churches.
