I guess it appeals to some though or they wouldn't have it on the show. Men like the Food Network Women it seems. Some probably wouldn't watch if food is all there was. Certainly not my favorite thing to see on a food show though.

Interestingly, my husband doesn't care for any of the female shows.

His favorite is Alton Brown and enjoys Unwrapped and some of the Iron Chef competitions. He doesn't care for any of the other cake competitions or festival shows.

His least favorites are Sandra Lee (doesn't understand how she got there), Giada and Rachael. He can take Paula in small doses.

I don't really have a favorite female either. Sandra lee uses way to much expensive and processed foods. Often I feel it's things that people could make cheaper and with better ingredients just as easily as her premade or mix items.

My husband likes Alton too, he's an Engineer so the science stuff gets his attention.

Why do people diss Rachael?

I like Rachael and her shows, not so much her daytime talk show, but I do think she is over-exposed, you see her face everywhere - 5 TV shows, cookbooks, magazines. Besides being very ambitious and hard working, I think a big part of her success is relating to the average person, i.e. $40/day trips, 30-second meals, etc.

I guess that must be it if people who are fans are saying enough already.

Did anyone see RR show yesterday on the 'stoup' she made? It sure didn't look good and not sure all the flavors she combined would taste that good.

My daughter and I started to watch it, which we normally don't, but RR was babbling and we couldn't believe some of the stuff she was saying. Didn't make any sense.

The corker was when she took the raw clams and shrimp, put them in the pot and then got the English muffins and started cutting them without washing her hands!! Talk about contamination possibility...eeewww.

I saw that the first time around. I guess she was taught that if you are going to cook something, you don't have to worry. My mother believed that way. She'd go from crumbling sausage to cutting tomatoes without washing because it was all going to cook together and cook for 10 hours. Me, I can't do that.

I feel bad for Rachel. Sure, she can get annoying in mass quantities, but bits at a time, she's great. I think her partnership with Oprah has caused this surge of hate. People like to hate Oprah and she's a tabloid staple. Rachel seems to have ended up there by association.
