Some folks like to hate TV 'pop chef' Rachael Ray
Daily Record - Jul 18 1:37 AMTurn on the television right now and you'll likely see Rachael Ray grinning at you. She might be in a Food Network studio kitchen scrambling up a dish during "30-Minute Meals."

I wonder why she seems to get the bulk of the negative press? You never really hear a whole lot about the other personalities other than about their shows or restaurants.

I think people hate her more because she is so successful. I mean, she has her own TV show off Food Network now. That, and she is a little overly-perky.

Well for a while on the Food Network it seemed like they wanted her to star in every show. That got a bit tiresome. Some of the people who have seen her new show have posted online that she isn't as friendly or as perky until the cameras go on. So maybe some see her as a phony.

Food network seems to do that. They find someone that is popular and then puts them on every show. Paula Deen comes to mind.

Well I think nearly all of them have more than one show now. Alton at least does his as series specials and not something that will go on forever. His seem more like a "special event". But even he is on iron chef on the side. They haven't stuck Paula on there yet.

I think Alton just has so much food knowledge and can talk so fast it would be tough to find anyone who could do his role on Iron Chef as well.

I just find Rachel and Paula to be overkill. They seemed more sincere when they just had one show to do. Now they are everywhere. Paula seems to be more crude with every "Party with Paula" show. RR's show in my opinion is totally stupid.

I agree, we have talked about the raunchy side of Paula's party before. It seems like they are trying to sleeze it up a bit for the ratings. It's a shame too because I have loved the Food Network because it's one channel I never had to worry about my kids watching with me. I pray they keep it that way.

I am not a huge fan of any of the females, although I do watch some of the shows. They seem to want to really put the sexy outfits on all but Ina, Paula and Sara Moulton.

They dont have to put the sexy outfits on Paula, because she is constantly grabbing her breasts!! Please give me a break. I wish the other Paua was back. The great recipes and the stories. Now its just Rude, Crude and Socially Unacceptable. Even her husband Michael seems to be uncomfortable

Her husband seems very quite all the time, guess he's not quite sure what to say. I used to love her and think she would be someone fun to hang out with from her Home cooking show. Now I am afraid I would be embarrassed if we are seeing her real side now.

I did like it when she and Michael dressed as Mr and Mrs Santa. They really look the part.

After Paula's party (probably my least favorite show) I really sort of stopped liking her. It was the sleazy thing for me too. My Mom felt the same way. Too bad too, I used to look forward to seeing her. Now I don't bother watching. Although I did catch some of that Deen Family Vacation, which was ok.
