Rachael Ray's voice problem
I found this while perusing USA Today... not sure if it's been posted
Rachael Ray starts new season with voice problem - Lifeline Live - USATODAY.comRachael Ray starts new season with voice problem
... She also marked the milestone with a check-up by her doctor. The good news: she has "the best blood" and "highest good cholesterol he's ever seen," along with "perfect blood pressure." But the bad news: she's battling a voice ailment. "My problem is: I talk and get overly excited," she says (her publicist later confirmed Ray does not smoke).

This is one link that isn't too controversial. The others seemed too hot topic or mean to post.
This isn't a real celebrity sighting but I just saw Rachel Ray smoking a cigarette near the Mesa Grill on Fifth. She was wee, nice skin and thank god she got rid of that horrific brassy blondish hair. link

Between being a smoker or a ex-smoker and talking non-stop, it's no wonder her voice is giving out on her.
I don't put a whole lot of stock into what a publicist says about a client because they always try to paint them in the best light, and like Paula (another smoker) they don't like to be seen or photographed smoking.

Think we spoke about this a while back, didn't we?

My doctor told me recently that my good cholesterol was the highest they had ever seen as well. And they were very excited about that.

Yes. Apparently more people are starting to notice the decline of her voice.

"She says that doing "about 280 episodes a year" of the various shows she's on,"
WOW! Well no wonder. That's a lot of talking, not to mention off air and outtakes/retakes. I haven't seen much of her recent shows (missed the Food Network Stars episode on her talk show and they don't reply it, darn darn darn), but it seems like even in older episodes she can get a little raspy sounding. What a thing to have to change the way you talk. Hopefully that goes well for her.

I know my voice goes fast if I talk continuously for more than 10 minutes at a time.
