Pros: Even heating, very versitile, removable grill plates
Cons: not a great waffle maker

I received this item for Christmas '07, after asking for the Cuisinart Griddler or the Bella Kitchen version of this item. After inspecting all three machines at Khol's I am completely convinced that they are all made by the same manufacturer, all buttons, knobs and screws are all in the same place. I have used this extensively in the last couple of months and can honestly say that I love this machine, I have grilled many different meats as well as panini (which this machine excels at). I often use as a flat griddle to cook pancakes with great results, the hinge unlocks and the lid lays flat giving you two flat cooking surfaces.

The place where this item fails for me is as a waffle maker, it just makes extremely thin waffles unlike any that I have ever eaten, so I will most likely not use it as a waffler, I like pancakes better anyway.

The cooking plates are removable making cleanup an absolute breeze. Included are a couple of recipe cards and some vague instructions, so you will have to play with it a bit to get the most out of it. Also included are 2 drip trays, which both can be used if doing open grilling, along with a cleaning tool.

All in all this is a very worthwhile item to have in your kitchen, great for quick meals. It excels with panini making a great crisp crust with a nicely melted interior.

Pros: None
Cons: Mine is falling apart after only 6 weeks of use

What a piece of junk. I have only been using it for 6 weeks and already, the bottom does not lock in anymore, it is starting to stick on food(never put in the dishwasher always hand washed), the bottom molding has broken and fallen off. I didn't save the box or the receipt. I would love to get my money back.

Pros: When it worked-it worked well except for sear function
Cons: Poorly supported-rotten warranty

I used it about once every 3 weeks for 9 months. Then, when I was using it, I heard a loud noise. It turned out that one of the plastic legs in the rear of the machine split. I called the number for customer support and was told that since I had it 9 months out of the year, the lifetime expectancy was 75% gone and according to the pro-rated limited warranty, I was responsible for 75% of any cost to repair or cost of parts. I didn't expect this from a product not only endorsed by Food Network, but a Food Network branded product. Buyer beware-if the manufacturer doesn't expect this to last a year, why should you?

When it was working, it heated OK on the sear setting but as soon as one put food on it, the temperature dropped to below hot.
