I'm sort of over it now because I enjoyed watching the show last night. My Mom, sister and I watched the Renaissance Faire one, we thought it was pretty cool.

Ah man, I would love to see that ep. I wasn't even watching anything I like last night. I would much rather see him at a Ren Faire. That had to be good.

Food Network: Robert Irvine Out As Host Of 'Dinner: Impossible'
The Tampa Tribune - Feb 29 9:05 PMAt a about 12:15 p.m. today, Food Network spokeswoman Lisa DelColle e-mailed me a statement by network president Brooke Johnson saying that Irvine will finish the rest of the production schedule but will be replaced as host at the end of the season:
This is becoming like the Mario Batali rumors.

If he is replaced on the show, then it seems like the likelihood of a return would be greatly diminished as opposed to just putting the show on hold for a few months.

Negative publicity brings on more interest, thus, more viewers will tune in to see what will happen next.

Besides, that show was all about Robert and his abilities. I think they should just can the show if they aren't going to keep him on.

Just like George Duran replacing Jim O'Connor, it just isn't working.

The way TV is today, I think it's all about the drama. This isn't the first time someone got booted off a show for embellishing, lying, sidestepping or omitting some truths. I think networks thrive on this kinda crap and, sad to say, I don't think FN is any different from any other network or cable station.

George Duran did the show Ham on the Street. Jim O'Connor did "the secret life of" and George replaced him on that one.

I still hear Jim doing voiceovers for FN so he is still associated with them.

I liked Jim and his voice but always felt uncomfortable when he made people hug him or dance with him or some other goofy thing. You could see that they didn't want to do it.
