Rep Power: 0 | Have you read her book - Made From Scratch? I really enjoyed it. I found many more details than she could squeeze into the Chefography epi. It also continued where that program stopped. Great Pics too!!!
Go to your library and check it out. Good Read. :books: |

Rep Power: 10 | I haven't. She's not one of my favorites but she does have an amazing story. She has really had to work hard her entire life. It's wonderful to see someone do that and find that kind of success. |

Rep Power: 1 | I am not a fan of her show, but am gaining more respect for her the more I learn about her. She appeals to more people than I realized, I have had more than one co-worker say how much they loved her show!

Rep Power: 2 | Okay, took me going to look up the book to see who you guys were talking about, Aunt Sandy, Sandra Lee. She cooks like my mom did out of a box, but looks like she use to make stuff from scratch, so did my mom, my mom had 8 kids to feed and got lazy.

Rep Power: 3 | Sounds good to me, I'm big on scratch cooking when ever possible. I seem to be bookless right now anyway.

Rep Power: 0 | much in common with her I read her book last Spring and found that she and I have a lot in common. While I enjoy cooking from scratch, I really like a lot of her recipes. The way she grills her pizza was so easy and other than the pizza dough, which I can't make, it was from scratch. I get calls for it often.
Sandra stands out because she did not have much of a leg up in becoming a successful person. She is a success because of her deterimination and enthusiasm. Give credit where it's due.
I know a lot of us on this forum like to cook and we prefer from scratch so there are a lot of critical comments about Semihomemade but there are A LOT of people out there who do not like to cook, don't have time to cook from scratch, don't know HOW to cook, and don't have the money to buy separate herbs and spices for a rub or all of the ingredients in a marinade. It comes across a little insulting to those who fall into one of the above categories when Sandra's Semi-Homemade concept is ridiculed. Please keep that in mind.
Sorry, didn't mean to get into rant mode.... |

Rep Power: 2 | Sorry if you took offense to what I said, but my mom did cook out of a box, and left the cooking to us kids, because she was involved in farm organizations and political activities away from the house, she did the best she could god bless her soul, but she chose not to cook. Just the way it was.
