I caught Aunt Sandra Lee's grilling special last night. It was just as I expected: filled with good advice and recipes I can't wait to try out*.
And while Aunt Sandy may be family friendly, I was still surprised to see her "G" rating.
I guess they gotta learn sooner or later.
Sandra Lee was out on the beach once again, only she was much more covered up than the infamous red dress episode.
Sorry man. Sandra actually dressed pretty identical to the two dudes who "helped out" during this grilling special.
Sandra did cook up quite a few meat and other cookout items during this special, but we all know we were watching for the cocktails.
Sandra didn't seem to like the fact that the men didn't make strong enough drinks, however.
The first guy made a NON-ALCOHOLIC drink consisting of lemonade and some other stuff that couldn't get Sandra out of bed if you poured it directly into her eyeballs.
The second guy made a drink with hot sauce and a lime-rimmed glass, but the only alcohol was a Corona beer! Once again, Sandy's going to need something stronger if you want any performance from her.
That's why Sandra had to take the cocktail making into her own hands. She made some sort of "backseat racecar iced tea" thing or something. While one sip could prove lethal for most normal humans, Sandra could probably mix it with her morning coffee.
Yeah, jot that recipe down. It'll come in handy come Labor Day.
Enjoy!
It's 10:38 p.m. EDT. How's THAT for a Monday post?! Thanks for waiting!

Aunt Sandy really knocks em back I guess. I always find it interesting when she is watching her sisters kids and makes these floor crawler fully loaded drinks for her and some kind of fruit drink for the kiddies.
The man in the middle is her brother!...He refers to her as 'little' sister in the beginning of the show. Probably why she is dressed more covered up...it was a 'family' show, thus the 'G' rating.
Well he's a handsome fellow. They coulda put him in something skimpy too.
I wonder what effect the wardrobe really has on the show ratings for the food network? It would be interesting to see the stats.
Maybe for Aunt Sandra's show it makes a difference. Really, who is watching this for the informational purpose of adding a 'dry pack' of whatever to something else!
Ina has a great following and we watch her for one, the food she makes and two, to see if she is inviting any new friends over. Seems to be the same group of men and Jeffrey is always out-of-town when they are there. But, not to worry, I think they all like each more than Ina..it's her food they are after.
While I was driving in the country today, one of the local radio stations were talking about Sandra Lee. They were saying how she doesn't really cook, just buys boxed or pre-made stuff.
She doesn't really 'make' anything until 'it's cocktail time!'
I must admit it was amusing with them describing her cocktails...they all end up being pretty much like Long Island Ice Tea with all the different alcohols she uses.
Did anyone catch Semi-Homemade today? It was with Sandra and her friends. She made all kinds of cocktails, which they tasted and commented on how wonderful they were. And yet, this show is rated "G". How can that be? Am I missing something?
