Hogwash! People have been gardening their own long before the recession!
I have never known anyone in my long, family ties that didn't grow and harvest a garden. Recession or not, it's just something we have always done going back to the 1930's or before@
How old is the person that wrote this...20-something?
Having a garden isn't something new...if you don't have a garden or never had one, then that is something new!!!BerryBaby

I grew up with a garden. Actually, to me when someone says they're gardening I think growing veggies not flowers.

The old lady who lives next door always has this spectacular vegetable garden. She's out there all day long and has beautiful veggies throughout the season, while our garden is full of weeds.
Those who forget the pasta are condemned to reheat it.
