Learning to cook more cheaply

Learning to cook more cheaply
Chicago Tribune
As the American palate has grown more adventurous, the grocery bills have grown more expensive. Cooking at home is not always cheaper than eating out, particularly if you learned to cook by reading Gourmet or watching the Food Network....

That writer has not been watching the Food Network, nor did they take English class "more cheaply" My English teachers would be rolling over in their graves, and the Tribune published it. I do not know what she has been watching, maybe just the commercials ? Almost everything in the article has been on one show or another. Now Gourmet magazine is not a budget magazine does not claim to be, it is exactly Gourmet Food pricey $$$$$ yes it is suppose to be. Wonder where she eats out at ? if it costing less than eating at home. Research research research before inserting foot in mouth, or as the detective use to say just the facts mam just the facts.

I thought the tip about fixing stock and sauce on the weekend so you can make pasta or soup quickly later on in the week might be helpful to some.
