This was the last episode I will watch of this show. I couldn't finish past the first challenge.
I like Ted Allen in Food Detectives when he has a personality, but in this show he's stiff. In fact, the whole show is stiff, rude and unpleasant and the judges are horrible.
The first chef to be chopped was the wrong decision in my opinion. They allowed a chef who included rope in their dish to go on, but let a guy go because Butter was swimming around in too much food for her plate? First she said she liked the pears with the beef, then she didn't. Whatever. As other posters had said here, she needs to be slapped.
I've seen a judge call a contestant a liar on national tv when the chef wasn't there to defend himself...which is just wrong. Must have issues with his masculinity to do such a thing. These judges are sarcastic, miserable and smarmy and they all seem to need a lesson in humility.
On Ultimate Recipe Showdown, the prize was bigger, the cooking time was more realistic as were the ingredients and the judges were honest, but respectful.
This show has been chopped from my dvr permently and I won't watch anything these judges take part in nor would I ever go to any of their restaurants, read their articles or support them in any way. Shame on these people!

Huh? I watched it today and I didn't see this one. It was four men and their ingredients in the basket were very easy to work with in my opinion.
I love the show. Gives a whole new outlook on creativity.BerryBaby

I think the personalities on the show are rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. I kinda look at it as them trying to go for ratings. When you look at how popular things like Hells kitchen has become I figure they are trying to add a little nasty just to follow in that trend.

This week, the one who I wanted to see go home with the prize didn't, but sadly, that is to be expected.

If people think these judges are harsh, then thank goodness they don't have Toby Young as a judge on there. He makes the "Chopped" judges look nice.

Some of the contestants in the past have REALLY screwed up some of those dishes, from not using all the ingredients in their baskets to undercooked or overcooked food, to the sloppiness of the completed dishes, with no garnish on them at all.
I think the judges are doing a great job.
Actually, who would want to eat undercooked or raw meat in today's horrible world of salmonilla & food poisoning? Hmm? Guess the chefs have to go in there with a game plan to be able to win.I'm a supreme Fan of Bentley Green & Aaron McCargo Jr.!!:appl:

Watched it with daughter yesterday. She had never seen the show and really enjoyed it.
I was very impressed with her ideas. They'd open the baskets, reveal what was in them and she would come up with ideas immediately. She was really having fun with it.
AND, she came up with very similar ideas to the person who won. Like the chicken wings, celery and string cheese appetizer. She said she would stuff the chicken wings and that is exactly what he did.
We enjoyed the challenge of coming up with dishes. Also, I thought the judges, on this episode, were right on target. The right person won.BerryBaby

Gabriel, I don't get your response. Pluff was just making a comparison. I surely don't think of her as a Simon....
Pluff is a happy person!
