Jamaican Throwdown Champ Nigel Spence to Compete on Food Network's Chopped
NEW YORK – Jamaican Jerk “Throwdown” champion Nigel Spence, owner of Ripe Kitchen and Bar in Mount Vernon, New York will be among the participants on the Food Network’s new series Chopped which will air on March 31 at 10 pm, April 1 at 1 am and April 12 at 10 pm. All times are Eastern.

Congrats.
Maybe we will get to know him better. It would be nice to see the Food Network do some specials with the winners.

Yeah, he said his arm was about to fall off and float away! He actually finished 5 minutes early though. Editing was interesting! I actually find the show pretty interesting. I know some people think it's a rip off of Top Chef, but I think it's original in that there are always new faces and that the judges aren't just huge faces, but people who are working their butts off in the industry still and know what these contestants are going through.

I wanted Nigel to win.
Guess at times, the judges don't seem to realise very good talent even if it came up and slapped them in the face! So his dishes were a bit too spicy for their liking. That's the way that he likes to cook.
