That's just how they are suppose to be....don't you think they are told how to react? It's all part of the show...just like Iron Chef. Jeffrey is ALWAYS a stuffy, critical, judge...I surely don't care for him, but that is how he is suppose to be on that show.
People, please, these shows have been reviewed, scrutinized and thought out long before they go on the air. Many have had focus groups look at them...they are what they are.
Either you like them, or you don't..they aren't going to change.
Hugs to all!

BB it is so nice to be able to voice our opinion even though we know it is not going to change the show, but gives a chance to say how we would like to see it, and yes we probably know it is a waste of time, but than again look at how many different things have came up after we have said something about it on here, sorta like the kids cook books all of a sudden your seeing more and more, something that we talked about quite awhile back, look we complained about there not being enough chefs now they keep adding the chefs back into the shows, so somethings do change even if it is not us at least we are voicing our opinions about it, makes me feel better knowing I have said something someplace that the network might read.

That's so true.....opinions do matter. Guess I'm just happy with the show and have no other opinions.
Yes, everyone, voice your thoughts, ideas...that's what these boards are all about...sharing.
Sorry if I came across a bit strong.

So you are going by the Wagner thought process where talented and or famous people are allowed to be jerks because of the fact that they are talented or famous.
Sorry I don't like putting celebs on that particular pedestal. They already have enough ego problems without giving them excuses for more.
As for the sweatbands. I think its part of the show. They generally get much more close up and in the face of the chefs here than on Iron Chef. I am sure Bobby and the other chefs are sweating just as much, the difference in you do not see the beads on their forehead because the camera is more in their face. Also I bet they like that look on Chopped since the show seems to enjoy showing how uncomfortable they make the chefs while ICA on the other hand has a tone that says it would avoid doing the same.
I would add one other change to the show. Have Ted congratulate the winner not kick out the loser. Watch any kind of contest and they tell you who got 4th, then 3rd, then they generally tell you who won. They do not tell you who lost last. The shows focuses on the negative so much since they have some requirement to say the word "Chopped" at least 50 times per episode.

It's not because she's a celebrity I say that, it's because of the kind of chef she is...Only people who watch these shows really know who she is, but also they don't exactly. Look at her as a chef and instructor, since that is what she is..I'm saying that I look up to her because of her accomplishments with cooking, not because she's on a tv show.

That is the Wagner effect. Wagner was a German composer that everyone who met him universally agreed was a complete jerk. Since he was so talented everyone forgave him his rather poor people skills and bad attitude.
Your saying that since she is a great chef she is allowed to act the way she does. I dont give people that leeway and I certainly do not approve of the "Every show needs a Simon judge" that seems to be going around these days.

It's just her personality, you either like her or you don't. There really isn't any wrong or right, just individual opinions.

It's just the show..I think we have stated that many times before. I like her on the cooking loft, and she doesn't have the same attitude on her own show.

Exactly....the producers, more than likely, have a huge say in how they are suppose to respond and act. I've seen her on other shows and she is nothing like the role she plays on Chopped.

If she were a doctor.. her" bedside manners" wouldn't be appreciated , even thou she could be a cool person outside the hospital..
Let's not forget that even though programs have been revised and scrutinized before airing, many, many are cancelled, also.
