It is OK to appreciate someones talent, we have seen Alex is a good chef, not a great one but a good one. I think that is what Tanner is saying he appreciates her as a good chef, she is not a good judge, but than again she may be a good actor ? I think it is a role she plays on the show, but than we will probably never know. I do not see where Tanner has said anything but that he appreciates her as a good chef, and has overlooked her role as a judge on the show. It is like I like Gordon Ramsay for his passion for cooking and his skill at that, not his people skills because that he totally lacks that in and on Hells Kitchen, watch him on his other shows you see a completely different person. I think there is nothing wrong with Tanner looking up to and appreciating Alex as a chef, I really do not think he was saying that to be an donkey butt is alright or acceptable. I hope this makes sense it did when I wrote it.

it appears that it has escaped EVERYONE'S attention that on every episode, there are 4 contestants and only 1 is female, thus cutting down the chances of a female chef EVER winning down by 75%!! what the hell gives? you mean to tell me out of everyone out there in a population of 330,000,000 you cannot cough up 1 more female chef? also, why are there always 2 men and 1 woman as judges?? trust me, if these roles were reversed, there would be hell to pay from men everywhere, and justifiably so!
it's interesting that you interpret any constructive criticisms of Chopped TV, with a dissatisfaction of the whole FN!!! actually, i love every show i watch on FN! however, it STILL stands that FN could find MORE women as chefs on one of the best FN show out there. i guess the truth hurts, huh? any more snide/snarky comments?
p.s. also, do you know how long it took me to find a site where i could post my opinion on a show that i watch "religiously"? fyi, there aren't many out there!!
i have something i like about most every show on FN... it's just FRUSTRATING to watch this "1/4 rule" being played out on EVERY genre of show i watch.. whether it's a news talk show (This Week with George Stephanolopous, Chris Matthews, etc.) or any number of TV shows that involve a panel of 4 people, and all they can summon up is a 4 to 1 ratio. I was just hoping Chopped would be different... but anyway, again, i like most every FN show...
No, I wasn't being snarky. You joined a fan site, I figured you must like something if you watch it. We all have our likes and dislikes. Most people join because they are a fan of something on the network, but most don't like everything.
why can't you address what I was referring to? that is, Chopped NEVER has more than 1 woman and 3 men as contestants!! get it? that's more important than caring whether i think you were being snarky....btw, i think you have a fabulous site!! finally, a place i can go to bitch and moan.. you can't say that about the FN website! oh well, their loss... critiques are what make people see others' views from a different vantage point...
Just trying to get to know you since this is your only post.
I thought that the blond woman and Alex had judged together on some shows. But maybe I am wrong. I guess I never really thought about it with the chefs, but it is a field where there are less women established than men, sure there are plenty if they looked for them. But I was under the impression people sign up ... and they don't seek them. Without knowing how many sign up to choose from it's hard to know who the FN has available to pick.
